Yoga Class Descriptions:
Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is a traditional style of yoga that focuses on physical postures (asanas), breath control, and meditation. A Hatha yoga class typically includes warm-up stretches, a sequence of asanas held for a moderate amount of time, and a guided relaxation/meditation at the end. It is a slower-paced class that emphasizes proper alignment, flexibility and balance. It is a good choice for beginners or those looking for a more gentle yoga practice.
Yin Yoga (Restorative)
Yin yoga is a slow-paced practice that targets deep connective tissues, promoting flexibility, relaxation, and inner calmness. The class involves holding gentle poses for an extended duration, typically three to five minutes, allowing for a deeper stretch and release of tension. Its benefits include improved flexibility, increased circulation, enhanced joint mobility, stress reduction, and a sense of mindfulness and introspection. By focusing on stillness and surrendering to the present moment, yin yoga provides a soothing and meditative experience, promoting overall well-being and balance in both body and mind. Perfect for any skill level!
Flow Yoga
Also known as vinyasa yoga, which is a dynamic style of yoga that links breath with movement. It is a faster-paced class but still perfect for any skill level! The class begins with a light warm-up, flowing sequences of postures, and a guided relaxation/third-eye massage at the end. It is great for those who want a more vigorous practice and enjoy the feeling of moving with their breath, it also helps to build strength, flexibility, and balance. See you on the mat!
Yoga In The Park – June to August Only
It’s time to get outside and enjoy nature! This flow class is the perfect way to begin your Saturday! From June to the end of August, be one with nature and learn about sustainability and how it benefits the natural environment around us! We practice in the heart of Edmonton, so there is so much to do right after your practice – make sure you go explore! There is also a playground available so feel free to bring your kids and let’s enjoy our beautiful summers! Yoga in the Park is weather dependent. If class is cancelled before the start time or within the first 30 minutes after class has begun you may be refunded or choose to reschedule. If class has begun, after the 30-minute mark, refunds & rescheduling will not be permitted. Thank you for your understanding!
